Ellie Goulding
Ellie Goulding (born Elena Jane Goulding, 30 December 1986 in Hereford, England) is a English singer-songwriter. Ellie Goulding rose quickly to the top with her electronic pop sound after capturing the attention of people by releasing "Starry Eyed" as well as "Guns and Horses" in 2010. Although she started out writing songs in a folk-inflected style, she eventually grew into a more electronic-influenced artist, touching upon dance music and ambient synth pop. With her unique soprano warble and knack for writing engaging, but emotionally honest songs, Goulding, much like her predecessors Kate Bush and Imogen Heap has a place at the cutting edge of contemporary mainstream music and an independent, artistic pop.Goulding soon graduated from the blogosphere to print media, gaining recognition from major publications such as The Guardian and fielding offers from record labels. Polydor Records eventually signed Goulding to a contract. Her debut album was scheduled for release.
