Ina Garten is well-known American cookery book author and Emmy award winning host of Food Networks current oldest show Barefoot Contessa which began in 2002. It has since aired 27 seasons through 2020. Ina Garten began her professional life at the White House where she wrote the nuclear energy policy and budget papers. In the beginning, she found her work fascinating intellectually but eventually lost interest when she bought a food specialty store named Barefoot Contessa. She spent eighteen years making her store very successful, before selling it as well as grabbing the pen to begin writing her first cookbook. A number of other books and magazine articles followed. She also appeared on the Food Network TV show also made its debut, and was a huge hit. Furthermore, she sells everything from cooking equipment to supplies and containers. Ina never went to a cookery class nor did she be employed at a restaurant. Ina is totally self-taught. Her name is associated with her casual approach to cooking and entertaining. The most well-known recipes she has created are her lemon chicken with a skillet roast, Beatty's Chocolate Cake Mac & Cheese Beef Bouguignon and Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts, and Lemon Bars.
